It means that the book gives more detail into the book than the movie and it shows that there is more than the top of the iceberg than it looks and that is what the book describes.
There is lots of people surrounding the person in red which could be showing a sign of leadership and to lead them in the right way. This could also be a sign of courage to stand up and not let everyone boss him around.
