What 3 things do you need to say to describe a rotation?

1.Where the centre of the rotation is?

2.How much it has turned through(1/4, or 1/2 turn or an angle)

3.Weather the rotation has turned anticlockwise or clockwise.

Explain what centre of rotation means

The centre of rotation is a little dot or cross on a grid which is where the shape of the rotation should turn on the line where the dot is.

Now use these 3 things to describe the rotation on Page 1 of the myimaths lesson (i.e. describe the rotation of the triangle)

The centre of this triangle is at 1,1 on the grid. It has turned 90º or 1/4 and has turned clockwise.

What is a time zone?

A 'Time Zone' refers to any of the 24 regions of the Earth’s surface, they are divided by longitude, in which standard time is kept.

Why do we have time zones?

We have timezones because they are suited to were we are in the world.

How are the time zones set?

Each time zone is 15 degrees of longitude in width, and observes a clock time one hour earlier than the zone immediately to the east.

Which direction does the Earth rotate? (clockwise or anticlockwise)

The earth spins counter clock wise

How many time zones are there altogether?

Thee are 24 different time zones.

What are the time zones named?

UTC or GMT

Which time zone is New Zealand part of?

We are part of this time zone: (UTC+12:00)

Name 2 other countries which are also in our time zone.

How To Multiply Fractions

Step 1: If you have a fraction like this 6/4  x  8/4   you need to....

Step 2: You need to multiply the two top numbers together 6x8= 48. 
Step 3 : Then multiply the bottom numbers which are 4 x 4= 16.

Step 4 : so the answer would be 48/16 but then you need to simplify. 
Step 5 :  Then simplify so it would be 12/4 and there is your answer .
